Episode 13: You saved my life

The day before a client meeting, an AI agent studies the requirements and prepares the proposal, overnight and then on the train.

Tuesday evening. Tomorrow morning I have a meeting with a potential new client. He has sent me a huge requirements document, with several attachments. It’s heavy going, and there’s no way I can study all of it in so little time.

I call in reinforcements: Cassandra, my AI agent in charge of business development.

“Cassandra, go through the whole requirements document and every attachment in detail. Give me a concise summary of what’s required on the functional, commercial and legal side. I need to be on top of all of it, without missing a thing, in as little time as possible.”

Off she goes. Cassandra does her job and comes back to me just before I go to bed, with all the key points. It’s an interesting project. We can’t let this one get away.

So I ask her to prepare everything while I sleep. First, the documents we have to submit. Then a presentation that sets out: one, our understanding of the project; two, our proposal; three, who we are and why the client should work with us.

When I wake up, Cassandra has done her job. I go through her work. Brilliant. Of course, a few points still need clarifying or improving. But the bulk of the work was done while I slept.

The meeting is a fair distance away. First leg by bike, second by train, third by tram.

Just before I get on my bike, I ask Cassandra to prepare a second version that includes all my comments. While I pedal, she works on my computer at home.

Once I’m on the train, Remote Control lets me see on my phone the questions she’s asking me and everything she has prepared. I work through the journey. Before I get on the tram, I ask her for one last round of updates. While I’m on the tram, she works.

When I reach the client’s building, I check one last time. All fine. Cassandra has done her stuff. She’s confident about the content. I’m ready to go in.

I walk into the meeting room and open the documents, which have synced to my laptop in the meantime. Spot on.
